Two Masters

Do you find yourself trying to serve God and your selfish interests? This comes as the result of attempting to control your own life, as well as others.

Jesus taught: “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:24).

When presented with the choice of serving God or money, choose God because serving two masters is really serving one, you. Flesh this out by humbly serving every person that you encounter with your time, talent, and treasure. You can serve the other person’s interests while at the same time serving your unselfish interests and God’s.

It will not merely be you who is serving, but Christ in you.

When life is centered in Christ, as we become clay in His hands, we discover that His power is greater than our desire for control.
