CUTE GIRLS MADE: Expression of God, Part 2 (Genesis 1:26; 2:7)

As the expression of our Creator, we are God-breathed, literally His inspiration. When we inhale the breath of God through worship, the Word, and a workout, we are filled with the Holy Spirit’s oxygen to exhale His breath to those we encounter in the same three disciplines. First, we worship God by communicating His character to every person we meet. Humility is the key. We must admit we fall short of God’s perfect holiness. The Hebrew word yadah is often translated as confess, meaning “to exhale” to God. Exhaling is how we remove waste both physically and spiritually. As a result, we must be willing to confess our sins to God, to those we sin against, and to a close confidant, demonstrating our yielding to God’s justice, mercy, and grace. When we worship God, we exhale His breath of life to others who will be drawn to Him (see 1 Corinthians 14:24).

Second, we communicate the Word of God in our relationships. The more we get into God’s Word, the more His Word gets into us. When we humbly and wisely share His Word with others, they draw nearer to Him (see 1 Corinthians 2:1-5; Colossians 4:5-6; 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12).

Third, we workout God’s redemptive and restorative breath of life in us by living out our salvation. Paul wrote: “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose” (Philippians 2:12-13). The Holy Spirit works through our everyday lives when we see every encounter as a divine appointment to connect that person with Christ (see Colossians 4:5-6).

Exhale the breath of life to others. Worship God by confessing your sin and communicating His identity to those you encounter. Humbly and wisely exhale the Word of God that you inhale in the morning. Workout God’s work in you by living out your redemption and restoration as you serve others through your career, family, and friendships.

True beauty flows from a relationship with God who shapes your heart to be like Jesus Christ. Fix your eyes on Him. He will deliver you from any insecurity and use you for your ultimate purpose; drawing others to life in Him.
