CUTE GIRLS MADE: Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20)

On the set of a television program, a young woman shared how she had been the property of a biker gang. They owned her. She was not her own. After a nationwide raid by federal agents, she was set free physically, but God had much more in store for her. He would also free her spiritually when she surrendered her life to Christ.

Your body is a temple. When you commit your life to Christ, you bring His Spirit wherever you go. That means every encounter with another human being is a divine appointment by The Almighty to connect that person with Christ. Jesus designed His Kingdom to permeate every thought, feeling, choice, prayer, and action. Consequently, everything becomes an act of worship.

The Apostle Paul wrote: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19). Did you catch those last five words? You are not your own. The reason is clear. Paul continued: “You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (1 Corinthians 6:20). God paid a world-record price in Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection for you. No greater value exists than God Himself. He gave all He had for you. No multi-million-dollar painting, automobile, precious gem, real estate, or financial portfolio is worth as much as you. Neither is fame, popularity, achievement, control, pride, or any other gratification. God’s definition of success for you is to shape you to be like Christ (see Romans 8:29). That changes everything from our world’s standards.

You are a walking, talking, worshipful being able to evangelize and disciple through your every movement. Pray to God: “Heavenly Father, thank you for paying a world-record price for me in Jesus Christ. I wholeheartedly submit my life to you. Make every moment an act of worship as you shape me to be like your Son. Use me to draw others to you.”
